Summertime Blueberry Sauce

  • Author: Liz
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 servings

The days are getting warmer, and the berries are ripe and ready for eating! This simple, delicious sauce goes great with ice cream, bread pudding or any other dessert you can dream up!

• 2 cups fresh blueberries
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup lemon juice

1. Put the blueberries, sugar and lemon juice in a small saucepan.
2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves and berries begin to burst.
3. Continue to simmer for an additional minute or two, then take off heat and allow the sauce to cool.
4. Refrigerate until ready to use. YUM!

Use freshly squeezed lemon juice if you can. If not, using the bottled stuff is not the end of the world :).
